2020 REGULAR-SEASON GAMES AT PRINCIPAL PARK

The Iowa Cubs provide opportunities for high schools to play regular-season games at Principal Park in Des Moines as part of the “High School Summer Series.”Here’s how the program works:

    • Each high school purchases 300 Iowa Cubs ticket vouchers for $1300. (The players and/or boosters at your school can sell them to your fans, families and friends for whatever price you set.) The vouchers are good for any regular-season game (except July 4). This, basically, is your cost to play.

    • Each school must send in a $650 deposit to secure their date. The remaining $650 must be paid at least 10 days before the day you play your game. Total cost for each school: $1300. Teams will receive their ticket vouchers once the $650 deposit is received. (Ticket vouchers are printed in March.)

Each game will be seven innings, with each team getting time to stretch in the outfield and take a 10-minute infield prior to the game. There is a two-hour time limit for each game. (If the varsity game finishes early, you may use the remaining time as you wish.) In the event of rain, your game will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

The participating schools will be responsible for game balls and umpires, as well as providing a public address announcer and scoreboard operator. The Iowa Cubs will provide water and cups in the dugouts. If your team would like to shower after your game, let us know in advance and arrangements will be made at the downtown YMCA.

Note: Teams will take infield and outfield in turf shoes or similar athletic-type shoes. (No spikes, cleats, etc., during pre-game. Starting pitchers may wear spikes warming up in the bullpen.)
